Tableware International Awards announced!

Tableware International launches the Tableware International Awards of Excellence, to recognise innovation and excellence in the tabletop industry

Welcome to the Tableware International Awards of Excellence 2018!

With a heritage stretching back to the 1870s, when it was the Pottery Gazette, and with its finger on the tabletop pulse today, Tableware International is a leading voice in the tabletop industry.

Which is why we have decided to launch a very special concept.

Welcome to the Tableware International Awards of Excellence, a celebration of all that is excellent in the world of tabletop.

Launching right now, this month, the Tableware International Awards of Excellence 2018 will cast a spotlight on innovation and design excellence, honouring tableware that is functional, beautiful, original, and tells a story.

The Tableware International Awards is open to all manufacturers, suppliers, factories and brands designing and/or producing tableware. Companies are invited to enter their products and collections into any of our 15 categories covering the complete tabletop make-up, from fine dinnerware, casual glassware, giftable tabletop and metalware, to decorative, flatware, licensed collaborations and barware.

Whether you are a factory in Asia producing a collection for a retailer somewhere in the world, a big tabletop brand delivering collections globally, or a small pottery somewhere in Europe producing pieces for small boutiques somewhere, we invite you to enter.

We have already assembled a first-class panel, made up of buyers, retailers, designers and experts from across the globe. From John Lewis in the UK, Dom Farfora in Russia and Parousiasi in Greece, to Jung Lee in New York, William Ashley in Canada and global etailer, the very best in the tabletop industry will judge the entries, deciding upon a shortlist along with the winners in each of the 15 categories.

Such prestigious buyers are joined by longstanding experts, such as Kevin Glancy, which has been supplying tabletop to yachts and jets for 30 years; Queensberry Hunt, who have been designing commercially successful tableware for five decades; and our very own Tableware International columnist Donna Ferrari, who has been reporting on tabletop as well as travelling the world visiting factories and ateliers for more than 35 years.

And there are many, many more – you can see the full lineup of panelists in our special Tableware International Awards of Excellence Insert inside this issue, as well as the list of categories and all information on how to enter, along with the entry deadline (October 1).

You can also find all of this on our dedicated Awards website, where you can see the full list of categories and panelists, and also enter using our online Entry Form. Click here to enter.

But that’s not all. All shortlisted brands will be recognised, and the overall winners announced, during a very special event, the Tableware International Awards of Excellence 2018 evening, which will take place on February 11 in Frankfurt, during Ambiente 2018, where the industry – retailers, buyers, panellists, suppliers and manufacturers - will join together to celebrate all things tabletop.

We hope you can join us for this very event and be part of this celebration of excellence.
