The finest Royal Crown Derby bespoke tableware designs have been selected for five-star London hotel
British fine bone china manufacturer, Royal Crown Derby, has delivered its largest ever order within the luxury hospitality market after a full range of its bespoke tableware was selected for banqueting at the iconic five-star London hotel, The Dorchester.
The initial order for the 15-piece banqueting china collection selected by The Dorchester includes a charger plate, starter plate, main plate, side plate, pasta plate, soup cup, sauce dish, tea cup and saucer, coffee cup and saucer, beaker, large and small creamers and open sugar dish, each embellished with a bespoke design created exclusively for The Dorchester by Royal Crown Derby.
Inspired by key features of The Dorchester’s Banqueting and Crystal Suites, the sophisticated bespoke design incorporates 22 carat gold triangular stars inspired by the profile of the luxury hotel’s elaborate crystal chandeliers, as well as spirals reminiscent of those on the opulent carpets of the Crystal Suite. Each item is finished with an exclusive backstamp bearing the five-star hotel’s name and logo.
The calming light blue and white colour way was chosen to enhance the dining experience at The Dorchester together with a rich golden tone, used to frame the dish being served and to celebrate the chef’s creation.
Christopher Oakes, Sales & Marketing Director of Royal Crown Derby commented: “The partnership with The Dorchester marks a definitive move into the luxury hospitality sector for Royal Crown Derby. The Dorchester is one of the world’s foremost luxury hotels as well as one of England’s most iconic destinations and we are honoured to have been chosen to provide a specially-designed banqueting service.
“We worked closely with the team at The Dorchester throughout our bespoke programme which included a series of onsite design consultations, unique shape development and durability testing in our in-house laboratory. We’re delighted that The Dorchester chose to buy quality, British made tableware and we look forward to developing our relationship over the coming years. The 16,000 piece order was produced at the Osmaston Road factory, Derby, using techniques largely unchanged for centuries ensuring the very highest quality.
